Take Action!
February 14, 2009
Dear Friends,
I am writing to you today during a time of unprecedented economic crisis and financial hardship for Southern Arizona’s children, youth, and families.
Just yesterday, we learned that State of Arizona budget cuts will result in the statewide suspension and potential elimination of many family support services in Arizona, some effective as soon as March 1!
Today, we need your financial support and your voice more than ever! Please make a generous contribution, whatever you can afford, today.
Then, call, email, or write your state legislators and urge them to support continued funding for vital family programs in our community. You can find the contact information for your legislators here. Just enter your address in the upper right corner of the page that opens.
These suspensions threatens Open Inn’s ability to continue to provide vital community programs for youth and families such as our 24 hour crisis intervention and assessment center, Project Safe Place, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and street and community outreach services. Through these programs, more than 13,000 of our most vulnerable neighbors – homeless youth, families in crisis, and abused children and teens – find safety and relief at Open Inn each year.
What will happen to these youth and families – our neighbors - if these programs can not continue?
We promised these young people a safe place when they came to us. Today, we need your help to keep that promise. Please make a generous contribution, whatever you can afford, today!
